• Weather now refreshes automatically after travel once you have stopped near the new location for about 10 minutes.
• Improved Yandex Weather timeout handling to avoid repeated fallback attempts and retry delays that keep moving forward.
• Removed the in-watch “What’s new” notification shown after updates.
- Fixed the forecast timeline so the graph advances to the current hour even when cached weather data is being displayed.
- Timeline updates happen locally and do not cause additional weather API requests.
- Weather fetching now continues if place-name lookup times out or is unavailable.
- A nearby cached place name is used when possible; otherwise the location is shown as “Unknown”.
Version 1.34.11
• Yandex Weather now provides temperature, apparent temperature, UV index, and rain probability directly (big thanks to Yandex Weather team for enabling this!).
• Open-Meteo is now available as a separate selectable weather provider.
• Yandex Weather and Open-Meteo use independent forecast caches, preventing data from different locations or providers from being mixed.
• Open-Meteo retrieves a rolling 48-hour forecast for improved reliability during intermittent connectivity.
• Weather updates occur 120 minutes after a successful fetch, with another attempt 60 minutes after a failure.
Improved weather-fetch diagnostics and fallback handling.
• Some minor bugfixes by Claude Fable model
- Improved Yandex Weather retry logic:
- regular updates happen 120 minutes after the last successful fetch;
- failed fetches retry after 60 minutes;
- avoids unnecessary repeated API calls while Yandex quota or connectivity problems are active.
- Updated app metadata.
YaForecasWatch2 now includes an optional feels-like temperature graph. Enable it in settings to show apparent temperature as dotted points on the temperature graph, with a configurable color on color Pebble models.
Changes:
• Added optional feels-like temperature dots on the forecast graph.
• Shows the current feels-like temperature in parentheses after the current temperature when the feels-like graph is enabled, for example 21 (18).
• Uses Yandex Weather feelsLike data when available.
• Uses Open-Meteo apparent_temperature for fallback/cached weather data.
• Uses OpenWeatherMap hourly feels_like where available.
• Uses Weather Underground/TWC feels-like data when provided by the API.
• Keeps the regular temperature line unchanged.
• Automatically adjusts the temperature graph scale when feels-like values are higher or lower than regular temperature.
This update is useful in windy, humid, or very sunny weather, where apparent temperature can differ noticeably from measured air temperature.
YaForecasWatch2 1.34.5
Improved weather reliability for Yandex Weather users.
Changes:
- Added local phone-side caching for Yandex Weather forecast data.
- Added local phone-side caching for Open-Meteo rain probability and UV data.
- Open-Meteo now requests 48 hours of hourly data, helping graphs survive intermittent connectivity.
- If Yandex Weather is unavailable or quota-limited, the watchface can fall back to Open-Meteo data.
- If Open-Meteo is temporarily unavailable, cached rain probability and UV data can still be shown when valid.
- Reduced unnecessary Yandex API calls during cooldown/quota failures.
This should make the forecast graphs more reliable while traveling or when mobile internet is unstable.
Improved Yandex Weather quota handling.
Yandex Weather now updates every 2 hours and waits 1 hour before retrying after a failed request. This prevents repeated API calls when the daily Yandex Weather limit is exhausted, while still allowing the watchface to recover soon after the quota becomes available again.
Initial YaForecasWatch2 store release. Adds Yandex Weather support, Open-Meteo UV/rain supplements, configurable Nager.Date holiday highlights, updated screenshots, a unique app UUID/display name, and disables telemetry.
