Hand shows hour, arc shows minutes.
For the first half hour, the arc fills up, starting at the tip of the hand and going clockwise.
At half-past, the arc is a full circle.
For the last half of the hour, the arc recedes clockwise, ending at the hand.
At the top of the hour, just the hand exists.
